Dr. Keserű Barna Arnold PhD

Barna Arnold Keserű has taken the leadership of the department from Professor Judit Lévayné Fazekas on 1st of January 2022 and continues to serve in this capacity to the present day. He is the first head of the department to have completed his legal studies in Győr. His professional career is outlined in the summary below.

Teaching experience

Barna Arnold Keserű’s teaching activity spans a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate specialist programmes. He contributes to instruction in the undivided law programme, the BA programme in judicial administration, and the BA in human resource, labour, and social administration. In addition, he is actively involved in education within the field of the arts, including the BA and MA programmes in architecture, industrial design, and graphic design. He also teaches in the legal assistant programme and in the postgraduate training programme for engineers holding a legal qualification. His teaching responsibilities further extend to several postgraduate specialist programmes, such as the agricultural and rural development lawyer, the alternative dispute resolution and mediation lawyer, the nuclear law specialist, the construction project manager, the construction project engineering specialist, and the energy loss auditing specialist training.

The subjects he teaches cover a broad spectrum within civil law and civilistics. These include Civil Law I–IV and VI, Fundamentals of Civil Procedure, and Civilistics I–II. He also teaches courses related to intellectual property protection, innovation and intellectual property management, the law of trademarks and geographical indications, as well as the law of construction contracts. Additionally, he provides instruction in energy law and standardisation, which offer valuable interdisciplinary knowledge at the intersection of legal and technical fields.

Field of Research

His primary field of research is intellectual property law, within which he adopts a generalist approach, engaging with trademark law, copyright law, and patent law alike. His publication record is available in the Magyar Tudományos Művek Tára.
